Revisiting Unforgettable Educational Ottawa Tours - Sharing Our Story
Many years ago, my husband and I ran a non-profit organization.
Teaching Canadian History to homeschoolers was an aspect of the service we offered. We organized 3-day field trips to Ottawa in which students and their chaperones were hosted, fed and taught in our home.
They also visited historic buildings: The Supreme Court, The Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings, and museums. They were taught not just in our home, but also en route to the next stop.
Although we have since moved from Ottawa, it remains my desire to arrange such trips to teach about our Christian heritage. We are currently planning to again run our popular tours to Ottawa in Spring 2023. If this is something that interests you, then you can keep in the loop in a few ways:

Thanks so much for a great time in Ottawa! Yes we did learn more about our Christian heritage and see the amazing buildings that our forefathers built. We had enough tours.. and yes the guys really liked the view from the Peace Tower. It’s fun being with kids that are on their first trip to Ottawa , as everything is new and exciting! I appreciated viewing the memorial room with all the signatures… and seeing Psalm 139 inscribed on the walls.
Some of the homeschool families in our area went to the Christian Governance tours in Ottawa this spring. We learned a lot about our Christian heritage and had a lot of fun too. The children benefited greatly! They learned a lot and were quite touched by all that you shared. I have to say that they are still digesting all the information and processing and understanding what it all means to them as believers and their role as a citizen. I do believe it was very rich and if I were to give any suggestions it would only be in regards to the fact that it was packed!! A lot to process and take in during a very short period. It was lots of fun! I learned a lot about parliament, I got to spend encouraging times with friends, and the people that run it are really nice Christians.

It’s truly a unique experience to learn about our government from a Christian perspective. It’s challenging and also inspiring.
It’s a nice home, Christian worldview, it is a time to learn about the past and the future.
It’s a great way to learn history as Christians.
There is so much history that you might not otherwise learn and it’s presented in a Christian way.
I would tell friends to come on this tour because the leaders are very friendly and it is great to hear our history from a Christian perspective. A very fun trip all in all!
Christian perspective, very informative, good to sit with a group of students and challenge them, Christian roots helps to connect with people.
We got a lot more in than if we were to try and organize it ourselves. They know so much and show you so much more than we would’ve seen if we were on our own.
I would tell a friend to come here to learn lots of interesting stuff about our government.
Very educational, good learning experience, interesting tours.
They give you an interesting, good perspective on government and the history of Canada.
They can get different tours then the normal person can get into. eg. Bell tower, Supreme Court.
It is a very helpful programme, especially if you are new to Ottawa or don’t know much about history, and they give you a place to really call home.
The leaders are friendly and personal and are great at making the experience interesting and educational.
Seeing this in a Biblical perspective is very important in shaping our worldview.

Christian Roots knows how to organize tours of Parliament Hill- has connections with MPs and knows interesting things to see. CR gives context to what you see, explains statues etc.. I like how they let us make lunches to take along, have efficient meals. CR’s charges very reasonably.
